Frequently Asked Questions
- What is Personal Brand photography?
-
Personal Brand Photography is a type of photography that focuses on capturing a person's personality, values, and mission in visual form. It involves creating a collection of high-quality images that can be used for professional purposes, such as social media profiles, websites, marketing materials, and other promotional platforms. Personal Brand Photography goes beyond traditional headshots and aims to tell a cohesive story about a person's brand, showcasing their expertise, authenticity, and unique qualities. These images often include a mix of portraits, lifestyle shots, and professional settings that reflect the individual's brand identity and target audience.
- What is the difference between a Personal Branding Photo session and a Headshot session?
-
A headshot session is designed for someone who only needs an image or 2 for their profile (business or personal). They need an image that captures what they look like and don't need to personalize their social media or other marketing materials.
A Personal Branding session is designed to craft a library of images for you to use in your marketing strategy. These sessions take more time to photograph and plan.

- I’ve never had a Personal Branding session – what should I expect?
-
That's okay. I'm here to help! Our planning session will detail everything you need for a successful shoot!
We'll go over the following:
- What do you do, and how does your product/service help your clients?
- What is your message, and how do you want the world to see you?
- Who is your ideal client, and what images will help attract the right people?
- Where will you use pictures, and how many do you need?
- Wardrobe/props/poses that will help build your look
- Where does the session take place?
-
This depends on you and your business! You want to tell a story that reflects your business, so it should be a location that speaks to you and your customers. If you have a shop or office, we will do some images there to get you in your natural habitat. If you are completely mobile, it will depend on your business, personality and message. Some shoots are best in the studio with clean backdrops and minimal distractions, while others are best on location. This is where we can have a lot of fun and variety in choosing locations!

- How do I use my images?
-
Professional images add credibility and personality to your marketing materials. Up-to-date photos on your website and social media (& wherever else you are showing up) help build recognition with your audience. If online clients meet you in person, they shouldn’t be shocked! When you use images throughout all of your marketing materials, it works towards developing a recognizable, consistent brand. Which helps build community and loyalty around your business.
